Prima Additive s.r.l., on the occasion of the opening of the Colloquium Dental 2022 trade show, is happy to announce the formalization of a collaboration agreement with 88dent (the division of 8853 S.p.A. dedicated to the dental industry).
8853 S.p.A. is a historic Italian company committed to creating value for oral health professionals. Founded in 1970, initially present on the market with the VALCAMBI Dental and ORVILL brands, 8853 S.p.A. has chosen the path of high specialization and today designs, produces, and markets innovative solutions and high-quality technologies for dentistry.
The object of this collaboration concerns the qualification of the metal additive manufacturing process in the dental sector.
In fact, for some years now, additive manufacturing or 3D printing of metal has been establishing itself as one of the most important technologies in the production of dental prostheses, thanks to the possibility offered by this technology to be able to work with highly biocompatible materials, such as titanium and cobalt-chromium alloys. Thanks to Prima Additive systems, entirely made in Italy thanks to the experience of the Turin-based company in laser technologies, it is in fact possible to print prostheses, crowns, skeletons, and more within a few hours.
By exploiting the additive efficiently, the time between the design and manufacture of most metal dental artifacts is drastically reduced.
This agreement, therefore, combines Prima Additive's experience in the metal 3D printing process with that of 88dent in the dental sector. In this way, 88dent will be able to fine-tune all the elements to guarantee the end customer an excellent application result, thus providing 360-degree advice to all those who want to implement this technology, both as regards the part of application studies, which for the printing of components, up to the sale of machinery.
88dent, in fact, will also deal with the distribution and sale of Prima Additive machinery dedicated to the dental sector, as well as their assistance.

The Print Genius 150, a Prima Additive machine entirely Made in Italy, equipped with a 500 W double IR laser and a build volume of Ø 150 x 160 mm, is installed in the joint stand in Colloquium Dental 2022. This machine was designed and built for printing small components and is therefore ideal for the dental sector.
